Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
using v2.4.1

I find I have LARGE dead areas where FinderPop will NOT open when clicking on blank areas of the menu bar. If I move over I eventually find a spot that works.

Note: I have a 27" iMac and lots of Menu bar icons but still have LOTS of space on my menu bar.

Please investigate.

P.S. It appears intermittent...more info to follow as I discover it

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
Maybe you have the option for translucent menu bar enabled (is enabled by default). FinderPop has problems recognizing unused space in the menu bar when the desktop image shines through. Go into System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver and make sure the related checkbox is not checked.

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
In this moment I found a remarkable behaviour: on Chrome and Rockmelt the free menubar area doesn't work, on Skype, Adium, TextEdit, Dictionary, Mail, 1Password (now open apps) it works perfectly. I disabeled also the translucent option, no changes

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
Hello,
Finderpop pane must be open and active on the desktop for the blank areas on the menu bar work. I do not have translucent menus activated. OS 10.7.2 FP v2.41.

Thanks Jerry

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
I find that I cannot invoke FP by clicking on the menubar when Chrome or iTunes is the active app. Turning off the translucent menubar option did not help...

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
I'll have a look at Chrome and iTunes when I get back to Barcelona this weekend (I'm travelling with work for the last 2 weeks.)

Re: Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
The problem is not universal. Clicking in unused space in the menu bar in iTunes 10.5.1 in OSX 10.6.8 works here as expected.
