Re: FinderPop 2.5.7
I have been experiencing similar problem of "I experienced the screen going black but with the computer apparently still running" for a long time but never considered that it was related to FinderPop. I am using Mac OS X.6.8 (Snow Leopard). What I get is if the computer is idle for a long time, instead of going to sleep, screen just goes black, then sometimes it will not "wake up:" but you can tell the computer is still running. In that situationmy only option is to restart. Note that I rarely shutdown my computer. I can go 30-40 days and only let it sleep.

Using 27" iMac 2010 i7 2.93 GHz.

Any one else experience this?

FORUM Problem....not getting updates
This does not relate to FP but the forum itself.

Even when I select "Notify me when a reply is posted", I get no e-mails. I have checked my Control Panel and my e-mail address is there and correct. I check my SPAM folder regularly too but nothing there either.

Any ideas?

Separator Line
Small thing: you cannot just use "-***" or "----" to create a separator line. There must be an additional character in front.

In my situation, that messes me up as I have items with a space in front to move them up the list (I know I can used use the xx) prefix. I use it for other times, just not all).

If the "-***" or "----" alone could be recognized, that would be nice.

Apply Finder Lable Colour to Recent List from Alias in FP
Instead of FP applying the Finder Label of the item that an alias points to when opening it, it would be nice to have the Finder Label Colour that is applied to the alias in FP that opened the item (or have an option to decide which it should be)

I have Finder Labels applied to some of my aliases in FP items but not applied to the Finder Item (sometimes because Finder will NOT allow a Finder Label to be applied to the original item -- why does Mac OS X prevent this?)

Re: Problems with Finder Label Colours
I figured out some of the issues re: Finder Label Colours

1. FP places an extra space in front of the file name when displaying names with Finder Labels. Does not affect sorting, only display in the FP menu (see other forum posts regarding this here:)
a) viewtopic.php?f=3&t=208#p904
b) viewtopic.php?f=2&t=193

2. FP formats items with Finder Label Colours differently when clicking blank space in Menu bar vs clicking desktop item
a) colour is muted/faded
b) colour does not extend to the full width of the menu
c) colour does not have rounded edges...maybe part of the solution is extending the colour label highlighting around the icon too, like the Finder does?

Adding Exposé features
Would be nice to have the ability to show open windows for an active process by scrolling to the active process in FP and pushing some combo keys, à la Exposé.

Combined with just showing a list of open windows off the active process would be a great combo (see my other post on this).

WIth both of these would significantly reduce the need for the Dock.

List of Open Windows for an active Processes
Would be nice to have a list of open windows listed off an Active Process.

Combine this with Exposé features and this would be fantastic (see my other post on this).

Unrecognized/Dead areas in blank areas of menu bar
using v2.4.1

I find I have LARGE dead areas where FinderPop will NOT open when clicking on blank areas of the menu bar. If I move over I eventually find a spot that works.

Note: I have a 27" iMac and lots of Menu bar icons but still have LOTS of space on my menu bar.

Please investigate.

P.S. It appears intermittent...more info to follow as I discover it

Can you add some larger sizes. 18, 20, 22 would be nice to try for my aging eyes.

Add ability to browse Compressed files
Hello,

any chance you could add the ability to view the contents of compressed/zipped files, similar to the View Package Content context menu?

I would be happy even if it was needed to install some third party util to accomplish this, e.g. Stuffit Expander (no free) or BetterZip Quick Look generator (free, found here: http://macitbetter.com/BetterZip-Quick-Look-Generator/ )

Thanks

Clicking on Menubar does not work with SpeedTools Pro
FP 2.3.0 on OS X.6.7

When running SpeedTools Utilities Pro v3.6 (also DiskTools Utilities Pro v3.6, same software re-branded), Finderpop does not respond by clicking or right-clicking on menu bar. Command-clicking does work.

You can get a demo here:

Have option to change Font Size of FinderPop
I use a 27" iMac i7 Quad. Res'n 2560 x 1440. As aging eyes have more and more difficulty , changing the font size would nice

I do use the built in Mac OS zoom feature, control + wheel button but that is a workaround for now.

Please advise if this is possible / in the plans.

I may be delayed in responding because I'll be in Chicago for work this week (7000 km from my Mac!)

Clicking FinderPop slow to open first time
FP 2.3.0

When clicking on empty menubar space, you ahve to click and hold before FinderPop opens. Once it opens the first time, then clicking on menu bar pos open immediately....until you come back some time later....then the delay is back.

Note that control/right-clicking has no delay.

on OS 10.6.7

Spacing before some alias names & Labels?
Strange anomaly FP2.3.0 on OS X.6.7

I have 3 aliases to folders in FinderPop Items folder. All 3 have a space before the name for sorting.
First and Third entry show up without a space. Second one shows the space.

One thing that is different is that the second one has a label colour, the other 2 do not, so I suspect is has to do with label colours.

Problems with Finder Label Colours
I used this so much in OS 9 and earlier. Was sad when it was not available for OS X for SOOOO LONG!! Had to figure so many other workarounds.

I was thrilled when it finally showed up for OS X!!!! Took me a while to re-integrate myself as I picked up so many poor habits without it. Now I'm so glad I returned to better habits with FinderPop.

A couple of small problems exist.
1. finder label colours do not show up consistently in the menus and sub-menus when clicking on Menu bar. Label colours do not show up at all when clicking on finder items directly.

2. some utils complain about it: Drive Genius 3.x, BTT (BetterTouchTool) used for Magic Mouse and Touch Pad (see new forum topic created)

3. Would be nice if it worked with SecondBar or the like. (see new Forum Topic created)
