Some folders won't expand in FP menu
Some aliases to folders in my FinderPop Items folders don't expand from the FP dropdown menu, while others will. Here's what the dropdown menu looks like:

And here is the FP Items folder:

Neither the Work Documents item or the Applications item will expand (both don't have arrows to the right of the item), while the similar Personal Documents and Documents items have the arrows next to the names in the menu and will expand. This seems to have begun recently (it all worked as it should before). I don't know what, if anything, I've done to cause this problem. I've turned FP off and on again; I've edited the FP Items folder contents; I've restarted my Mac. None of those steps seem to have helped. Any suggestions?

Re: Some folders won't expand in FP menu
Judging by your screenshots, you're using Yosemite. I've found that Yosemite treats alias's differently from all other previous versions of the OS.

What solved my problem was to replace the standard alias with a symbolic link. Once I did that, everything (this was a problem with more than just FinderPop) went back to working.

I installed a Service in my contextual menu to make creating Symbolic links much easier. It's called SymbolicLinker 2.0v3:

http://seiryu.home.comcast.net/~seiryu/ ... inker.html

or

http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/10433/symboliclinker

It's free, and it's a snap to install. This solved my alias problems... hope it can help you.

Re: Some folders won't expand in FP menu
Which version of FP do you use? Version 2.5.7 is supposed to solve the issue with aliases in Yosemite:

• 2.5.7 Allows FinderPop to work with alias files produced by the Yosemite 10.10 Finder.
• In FinderPop's Move/Copy/Alias dialog, you can control-click the Alias button and FinderPop will create symlinks instead of aliases.

Re: Some folders won't expand in FP menu
Ronald PR - thank you. I had somehow unchecked the "Check for Updates" option in the Preference Panel and hadn't realized there was an updated version. 2.5.7 fixes my problem.

Yes, 2.5.7 should fix the Yosemite alias issue. Thanks to all the responders!
